The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Tiefenpsychologisch fundierte Suchttherapie (AGTPS) is a collaborative training organization formed by the Moreno Institutes in Stuttgart and Edenkoben/Überlingen and the Szenen Institut in Cologne. Its work focuses on professional development in addiction treatment, drawing on the participating institutes’ nearly 20 years of experience in training addiction therapists. Across 17 courses, more than 200 people have been trained and certified according to German Pension Insurance (DRV) criteria.
AGTPS offers a three-year, part-time continuing education program in depth-psychologically oriented addiction therapy. The curriculum was recognized by the DRV and statutory health insurance providers (GKV) in 2017. It combines theoretical foundations and treatment approaches with action- and experience-oriented methods. The program prepares participants to conduct rehabilitation measures for people with addictive disorders, individually or in groups, in outpatient, day-care and inpatient settings.
The intended participants are employees of addiction rehabilitation services with a completed degree in social work, social pedagogy, psychology or medicine. AGTPS is based in Stuttgart and provides information and contact support for prospective applicants.
