Águas do Porto

Águas e Energia do Porto is a municipal enterprise established in October 2006 and wholly owned by Porto City Council. It provides essential water and energy services across the city, combining customer support with the planning, operation and development of public infrastructure. Its responsibilities span the urban water cycle, including drinking-water supply, water quality, domestic wastewater and stormwater drainage, as well as the monitoring, rehabilitation and protection of rivers and streams. The organisation also supports Porto’s beaches and promotes responsible water use.

For customers, services include water contracts, meter readings and management, tariffs, billing and payment options, technical assistance, water analyses and digital account access. Águas e Energia do Porto also manages public lighting infrastructure, develops renewable energy production and operates a network of electric-vehicle charging points. Its project and engineering activities cover public and private water networks. Through investment, service information and emergency communications, the enterprise works to maintain reliable water systems and improve urban infrastructure, while sharing guidance on water quality, conservation and public services with residents and other users.
