AGUS

AGUS e.V. is a German self-help organization supporting people who have lost someone close to them to suicide. Its services are intended for bereaved people at any point in their grieving process, as well as friends, colleagues and professionals seeking to better understand and support those affected. AGUS offers a nationwide network of peer-led self-help groups, where participants can talk with others who have had similar experiences in a confidential, non-denominational setting. The groups are led by trained, experienced people with personal experience of suicide bereavement and are not therapy.

The organization also provides online discussion forums and group sessions, telephone appointments, lectures, seminars and a podcast, alongside information about grief and practical guidance for the first days after a loss. Its resources include free leaflets, brochures, books, postcards, newsletters and travelling exhibitions. AGUS organizes grief seminars and training for group leaders, shares news and research opportunities, and raises funds to continue its work.
