About AHA Centre
The AHA Centre is an intergovernmental organization that aims to facilitate cooperation and coordination of disaster management among the ten ASEAN Member States. Established in 2011, the AHA Centre primarily works with the National Disaster Management Organizations (NDMOs) of ASEAN countries to carry out its mandate. Additionally, it collaborates with international organizations, the private sector, and civil society organizations such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the United Nations, and AADMER Partnership Group.
The AHA Centre also engages in multilateral cooperation with various ASEAN partners. In times of large-scale disasters, the AHA Centre closely works with the Secretary-General of ASEAN to mobilize resources and coordinate efforts with ASEAN Leaders and partners worldwide. The AHA Centre reports its progress and activities to the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM), which consists of heads of NDMOs of the ten ASEAN Member States.
With a vision of ASEAN responding as one to support disaster-affected communities and becoming a global leader in disaster management, the AHA Centre is dedicated to reducing disaster losses and responding to emergencies while maintaining high accountability and financial integrity
