About Association for Historical Dialogue and Research
AHDR (Association for Historical Dialogue and Research) is a unique multi-communal, non-profit, non-governmental organization established in Nicosia, Cyprus in 2003. Comprised of members from various backgrounds, AHDR aims to promote an open dialogue about enhanced pedagogic practices in history education. Adhering to human rights values and UNESCO aims, the organization envisions a society where historical understanding and critical thinking are embraced as integral parts of democracy.
AHDR offers a range of services to advance historical understanding, including resources on history and history teaching, archival materials, and educational materials for educators and students. They also provide opportunities for educators, youth, and children to benefit from the latest developments in history teaching. Furthermore, AHDR works to increase public awareness on the importance of dialogue, multiperspectivity, and cooperation among all communities in Cyprus, fostering a culture of peace through education.
