About Ahec West
The Health Insurance Program at AHEC West is dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare through education and collaboration. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, AHEC West's mission is to ensure that healthcare is accessible and of the highest standard. The program offers a range of services including clinical education for health professions students, summer programs for high school students interested in health careers, and mentorship opportunities.
They also provide continuing education programs for regional health professionals and interprofessional experiences for students interested in geriatrics. AHEC West prides itself on facilitating and participating in coalitions and task forces that address priority concerns in healthcare. Their service area includes Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett counties in Maryland, as well as neighboring counties in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
