AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport is a non-profit, foster-based pet rescue organization located in DeSoto, IA. We are dedicated to saving homeless companion animals and promoting responsible pet ownership. Our mission is to bridge the gap between traditional animal shelters and no-kill rescues by providing free transportation for dogs from shelters to rescues across the Midwest and Canada.

Through our unique rescue services, we offer temporary housing and overnight rest stops for dogs in need, as well as find them foster homes and forever homes. We work tirelessly to rescue dogs on death row from traditional shelters and place them in loving homes through our organization. Transportation plays a vital role in our rescue efforts.

Our dedicated volunteers drive dogs from one state to another, ensuring their safe journey to no-kill rescues. We have equipped transport vehicles specifically designed for the safe transport of these precious lives. Additionally, we are a foster-based program, taking in homeless dogs and providing them with temporary homes and necessary veterinary care.

Once fully vetted, we find them forever homes through adoption events and online platforms. At AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport, we rely on committed volunteers to make our work possible. Our organization was founded by Amy Heinz, inspired by the story of Amazing Grace, a scared little dog dumped along the highway.

We are committed to making a difference in the lives of animals in need and promoting compassionate pet care. To learn more about adopting, volunteering, and supporting our cause, visit our website or find us on Facebook
