Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland (AHN) is verantwoordelijk voor het digitaal bestand waarin hoogtegegevens voor heel Nederland staan. Van elk lapje grond van een halve bij een halve meter is bekend hoe hoog het ligt ten opzichte van het Normaal Amsterdams Peil (NAP). Om de gegevens makkelijk in te kunnen zien is er een digitale hoogtekaart ontwikkeld. Het AHN wordt gebruikt voor zeer diverse doeleinden.
