AHRI is the abbreviation of Animal Health Research Institute. Established in 1904 as Pathology Laboratory in a separate building within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Cairo University, it was later upgraded and renamed as the General Administration of Veterinary Labs and Research in its current location on El-Sed Street in Dokki. Over the years, the institute has expanded its work and branches across the Republic with the establishment of the Agricultural Research Center in 1983, which includes AHRI.
