AICW

The Association of Italian Canadian Writers (AICW) is a vibrant national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a community of writers, critics, and artists who celebrate Italian-Canadian literature and culture. Founded in Vancouver in 1986, the AICW strives to promote the unique experiences and expressions of the Italian-Canadian community within a culturally diverse society. With a membership exceeding 100 writers across Canada, the U.S., Italy, and Europe, the AICW embraces literary creation in English, French, Italian, and various Italian dialects.

The association actively organizes a biennial conference, featuring diverse events such as readings, workshops, and film screenings, aimed at exploring contemporary issues while honoring historical narratives of Italian immigration. It also hosts numerous literary events and competitions, encouraging both emerging and established writers. Additionally, the AICW takes part in prominent festivals, showcasing the works of its members and enriching the cultural landscape of Italian-Canadian literature. Whether it’s through publications, readings, or community engagements, the AICW remains committed to nurturing artistic expression.
