Aidepce

AIDEPCE is a community-based association located in Cubulco, Baja Verapaz, Guatemala. It began in 1999 as a committee formed by parents, caregivers, and friends of people with disabilities. Today, the organization promotes community-based inclusive development and social protection, guided by a human-rights approach that respects local culture. Its work supports people with disabilities and their families to participate actively in social, economic, and political life through training, accompaniment, and advocacy.

AIDEPCE’s objectives include strengthening people’s ability to exercise their rights, expanding access to rehabilitation and habilitation opportunities, and promoting inclusion in education, community life, culture, work, politics, and recreation. It also advances economic empowerment to support personal and family livelihoods, challenges exclusion and discrimination, and encourages local governments and public and private organizations to contribute to inclusive change. The association organizes its programs around health, education, livelihoods, and advocacy, and states that its programs are safe for children and adolescents. AIDEPCE is based in Barrio San Juan, Cubulco.
