AIDO Caprino

A.I.D.O. Caprino Bergamasco is the local group of the Italian Association for the Donation of Organs, Tissues and Cells, known as A.I.D.O. Its “Giuseppe Decimo” municipal group brings together people who voluntarily agree to donate their organs, tissues and cells after death, anonymously and without payment. The association is non-profit, independent of political parties and religious affiliations, and committed to ethical principles and Italian law.

Its work focuses on promoting solidarity and informing the public about the importance of donation for transplants and therapeutic grafts. A.I.D.O. Caprino Bergamasco also raises awareness of healthy lifestyles that may help prevent conditions requiring transplantation, and organizes information and outreach campaigns.

The group’s activities include a local walking and hiking program. Established following an idea by Angelo Mazzotta, its first “Marcia Donatori Aido” took place in June 2005, honoring members and donors. The group continues to organize community events and publish information, including walking calendars and trip announcements, while connecting visitors with regional donation and transplant organizations.
