About AIDT
AIDT is Alabama’s workforce development agency, established in 1971 to help new and expanding businesses build skilled teams while connecting residents with employment opportunities. The organization partners with employers across the state to understand their hiring and training needs, then creates customized recruitment, assessment, and training services. These services are offered at no cost to participating employers and trainees.
AIDT’s support can include helping companies identify and assess applicants, prepare candidates for specific roles, provide job training, and improve workplace processes as business needs change. Employers can work with a project manager and AIDT’s client success team throughout the process. The agency also shares information about jobs and opportunities across Alabama and provides resources for job seekers, citizens, and businesses. Its offerings include the AIDT Military Transition Program, along with classes, learning resources, and company registration support. AIDT reports assisting more than 5,500 companies and training over one million Alabamians. It is ISO 9001:2015 certified and aims to strengthen Alabama’s workforce by aligning practical training with employer requirements.
