The International Aikido Federation (IAF) is the federation of National Aikido organizations, directly affiliated with the Aikikai Hombu in Japan. As a member of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the IAF represents Aikido and the global Aikido family of its members. The IAF is led by the Aikido Doshu, responsible for the spirit and standards of Aikido, and advised by the Senior and Technical Council.

Membership in the IAF is open to national organizations recognized by the Aikikai Hombu. The General Assembly, held every 4 years, manages the overall organizational decisions. The IAF's day-to-day operations are managed by the Directing Committee, with the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and other officials.

Aikido training is at the core of the IAF, with the General Assembly held alongside Aikido training courses and national demonstration team presentations. The IAF has gained international recognition, becoming a Full Member of GAISF and the International World Games Association. As a member of the Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sport (AIMS), the IAF supports activities for youth and takes part in events such as the CombatGames and WorldGames.

The IAF serves as a legitimate platform for member nations to network and raise the profile of Aikido. It is recognized by global sports authorities and governments, providing authenticity to member national federations. The IAF also contributes to clean martial arts as a member of the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA).

The IAF is continuously working on web content creation, video promotions, and participation in global sports conferences to increase Aikido's exposure. With its legitimate platform and network, the IAF allows member nations to train, meet, and collaborate beyond national borders
