Aikido Ryugikan is a registered Aikido Yoshinkan Foundation dojo serving Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax and communities across Durham Region, including Bowmanville, Brooklin, Courtice, Pickering, Port Perry and Uxbridge. Its mission is to help students discover aiki—the practice of harmony—with training in martial arts, self-defense, weapons and budo. The dojo offers classes for children and adults, welcoming girls, boys, women and men.
Its approach presents Aikido as non-aggressive and non-competitive, making training suitable for families and people seeking practical skills, physical activity or a deeper study of the art. Instruction is led by Graham Stewart, an experienced instructor with extensive Aikido Yoshinkan training in Japan, including time at the organization’s Tokyo headquarters. The Whitby dojo is located on Sunray Street and features padded mats and a dedicated training area.
Prospective students can contact the school to learn about its programs, visit the facility or arrange a free trial class. Aikido Ryugikan combines structured instruction with a welcoming environment for students at different stages of their training
