AIL Varese Como ODV is a nonprofit section of the Italian Association against Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma. Officially founded on 4 March 2004, it began with a commitment to support the creation of a specialist haematology centre at Varese’s Ospedale di Circolo, providing diagnosis and treatment for blood disorders. Today, the organisation works to advance research and offer practical support to people affected by these illnesses and their families across the local area.
The section raises funds through donations, Italy’s 5×1000 tax designation, fundraising campaigns and community events. Its activities include initiatives such as RandoAIL, local gatherings and seasonal product campaigns, with items available through its online shop. It also highlights its work in haematology care and research, including support for local hospital projects and assistance such as transport to appointments. AIL Varese Como shares news and information about blood diseases, its projects and how collected funds are used. Through public engagement and community support, it aims to help make progress towards a future without blood cancers.
