About Cambodia AIMS Project
Accelerating Inclusive Markets for Smallholders (AIMS) is a collaborative initiative between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), aimed at promoting inclusive growth in agricultural markets. Launched in February 2017, AIMS focuses on enhancing market access and value for smallholder farmers, particularly those from poorer backgrounds. Over six years, the project has established itself as a pivotal resource, leveraging a combined funding of approximately USD 45 million.
AIMS provides a variety of services, including Business Literacy Training (BLT) and sector development facilities, designed to empower smallholders and improve their productivity. The initiative also promotes agricultural cooperatives, MSMEs, and agribusinesses, fostering a multi-stakeholder platform for sustainable development. Key products include a Value Chain Innovation Fund (VCIF) and support for technical service providers to improve agricultural practices. By connecting farmers directly to markets, AIMS is not only increasing incomes but also enhancing the overall resilience of rural communities in Cambodia.
