The All India Network Project on Soil Arthropod Pests (AINP-SAP), initiated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in 1982, focuses on managing insect pests that affect agricultural crops across India. Under the evolving mandate, AINP-SAP coordinates research on soil arthropod pests such as white grubs, termites, and cutworms to develop eco-friendly, integrated management strategies. The project successfully engages multiple research centers throughout India, promoting collaboration and localized research to address pest issues specific to various agro-ecological zones.

AINP-SAP's mission encompasses the identification of biocontrol agents, pheromone research, and the evaluation of innovative ecological and chemical solutions for pest management. Training programs and information dissemination are integral to their approach, ensuring farmers can effectively implement the latest pest control technologies. By prioritizing sustainable practices and biodiversity studies, AINP-SAP not only aids in protecting crop yields but also champions environmental conservation in pest management efforts. Through innovative research and partnerships, AINP-SAP aims to enhance agricultural productivity and resilience against soil arthropod challenges.
