AIPD Molise is the Campobasso section of the Italian Down Syndrome Association, a nonprofit organization founded locally in 1995 and part of the national association established in 1979. It brings together people with Down syndrome and their families, serving as a point of reference for parents, healthcare and education professionals, and others seeking information and support. Its work focuses on promoting autonomy, inclusion, rights, education, employment, and health, while helping families navigate relevant services and protections.
Through ongoing, completed, and nationwide projects, AIPD Molise develops initiatives intended to improve wellbeing and build a more inclusive society. Activities include supporting independent living and social participation, with projects such as “Una casa per domani,” which helps participants explore shared living and prepare for greater independence. The association also shares news, events, and information about Down syndrome, and advocates for the voices and needs of people with the condition.
Community members can support its work through donations and Italy’s five-per-thousand tax contribution, helping sustain programs and plans for a future home for people who may need support when their parents are no longer able to provide it
