Airienteers

Airienteers is a friendly orienteering club serving Airedale and Wharfedale, Leeds and Bradford. It brings together people of all ages and abilities to enjoy outdoor adventure, fitness and navigation, whether they are seeking a family activity, a competitive challenge or a sociable way to explore. Orienteering combines running with map reading: participants navigate between checkpoints, choosing their own routes and racing against the clock.

The club organises regular events during its September-to-June season, including weekend and weekday evening activities, leagues, introductory sessions and competitions. Members can take part at local, national and international levels, or simply enjoy the sport for recreation. Airienteers welcomes newcomers, who may try up to three events before joining, and provides coaching for beginners as well as more experienced orienteers. A thriving junior section supports young participants, with opportunities for coaching and competition. The club also hosts major events, including the Leeds City Race Euro Tour and British Orienteering Championships in 2027.
