About Airlie Gardens
Welcome to Airlie Gardens! As an 501(c)3 non-profit organization, our mission is to ensure the preservation of Airlie Gardens as an outstanding historic public garden that serves both New Hanover County residents and visitors. With a rich history dating back to the early 1700s, our gardens have been transformed into a picturesque oasis by Sarah and Pembroke Jones, who purchased the property in 1884. Today, spread across 67 acres, Airlie Gardens invites you to experience the natural beauty and cultural significance of the area.
With over 120,000 visitors annually, we offer a range of events and exhibits throughout the year, including our popular Summer Concert Series and Oyster Roast. For those interested in learning, we provide educational programs for schools, teachers, and the public.
