About Air Moana
Founded in 2022 and based in Papeete, Air Moana is French Polynesia's privately owned domestic airline, bringing together a family of more than 300 passionate professionals dedicated to delivering an authentic, reliable, and premium travel experience throughout the islands. Established by Christian Vernaudon, a former head of Air Tahiti, the airline secured its air operator's certificate in February 2023 and made its inaugural flight to Bora Bora on 8 February 2023 — introducing the first meaningful competition to French Polynesia's inter-island air travel market in decades. The airline now operates a modern fleet of four ATR 72-600 aircraft, serving eight destinations across French Polynesia: Tahiti, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Fakarava, Rangiroa, Nuku Hiva, and Hiva Oa — with Tikehau scheduled to join the network in 2027.
Entirely owned by Polynesian shareholders and staffed exclusively by locally recruited employees, Air Moana is deeply committed to supporting the economic, social, and cultural development of French Polynesia
