Welcome to AirplaneBoneyards.com, your comprehensive online resource for all things related to airplane boneyards, storage facilities, and the disposal of aircraft. We provide information on commercial airliner boneyards and storage facilities in the United States and Europe, as well as post-WWII boneyards.

Our website covers various topics, including the temporary storage, maintenance, parts reclamation, and scrapping of aircraft. We offer insight into the processes involved in storing and preserving airplanes, as well as the ultimate retirement and dismantling of commercial airliners. You'll also find details on major storage and disposal facilities, such as the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville and the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.

Additionally, we explore the fascinating history of military aircraft boneyards in the United States. After World War II, the surplus of aircraft led to the establishment of sales-storage depots, where thousands of planes were either sold, scrapped, or stored long-term for future use. Today, the largest airplane boneyard in the world is operated by the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.

If you're interested in learning more about airplane boneyards and exploring maps of these locations around the world, we've got you covered. Please note that most boneyards have restricted access and do not offer tours, so it's always wise to check with individual sites before visiting.

At AirplaneBoneyards.com, we strive to provide accurate and insightful information. Our goal is to satisfy your curiosity about these unique and fascinating facilities that play an important role in the aviation industry.
