Aix-la-Sports

Aix-la-Sports e.V. is a nonprofit swimming education club in Aachen, offering qualified instruction since 2014. Its mission is to help people of different ages and backgrounds learn to swim, with courses available from preschool age onward. Beginners can join age-group classes, then progress through further instruction toward the German Swimming Badge in Gold. The club’s own teaching approach begins with breaststroke using a gliding technique and breathing in the water. Classes are inclusive and integrative, and the program can also accommodate children who need more intensive support; families are encouraged to ask about individual needs.

Aix-la-Sports also offers swimming courses for teenagers, including gender-separated classes, and adult instruction ranging from beginner lessons to stroke development. Additional services include lifesaving training and qualifications in water safety, including support for teachers. Its qualified, international instructor team works with four secondary schools and cooperates with youth welfare organizations and after-school programs. To keep fees affordable and extend access to swimming education, the club seeks sponsors and accepts donations, including support for swimming lessons for refugees.
