About AKKO
AKKO is a France-developed platform for sovereign data and artificial intelligence, designed to run on an organisation’s own Kubernetes infrastructure. It brings together data federation, SQL access, lakehouse storage, a catalogue, workflow orchestration, distributed computing, business intelligence, notebooks and governed AI in one environment. Its Trino-based federation lets teams query databases, lakes and open tables from a single point without first copying or migrating data. Access rules are applied at query time, and activity is logged under the identity of the person making the request.
The platform connects with established technologies including Iceberg, OpenMetadata, Airflow, Spark, Superset and Keycloak. Its AI assistant, ADEN, answers using the requester’s identity, while NORA helps enrich the data catalogue; models can run within the customer’s environment. AKKO supports sectors such as banking, public services and healthcare, as well as AI-agent use cases and gradual transitions from Hadoop. The company also publishes open-source components, including its governed MCP server for Trino, under the Apache 2.0 licence.
