AKS Aviation is a dedicated collective of freelance photographers based in Northrhine-Westphalia, Germany, specializing in capturing the dynamic world of aviation. Established in 2006 by Markus Altmann and René Köhler, the brand initially focused on photographing aircraft at various airshows and airports across Europe. Their primary locations include Munster-Osnabrück, Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, and Amsterdam-Schiphol, known for its exceptional photographic opportunities.

As their passion for aviation grew, so did their portfolio, branching out into parts of Asia and the United States to enhance their diverse collection. In 2011, AKS Aviation expanded its expertise by incorporating Air-to-Air photography, enabled by the private pilot license obtained by André Köhler, enhancing their ability to document aircraft in flight. The team also welcomed additional members in 2016, including Christian Weber, Patrick Weis, and Sebastian Düsenberg. With a focus on both military and civilian aircraft, AKS Aviation continues to capture the breathtaking essence of flight, offering a rich visual narrative that appeals to aviation enthusiasts worldwide.
