Alaska Smart Home Designs is a veteran-owned, licensed and insured smart home integration and general contracting business based in Alaska’s Mat-Su Valley and serving homeowners across the state. Founded by Ben Barrio, the company combines hands-on construction experience with decades of information technology and cybersecurity expertise to plan and build systems around each home, rather than relying on one-size-fits-all packages.

Its smart home services include whole-home automation, smart blinds and lighting, security cameras and locks, energy management, and network and data privacy setup. Designs emphasize practical safety and convenience, with options such as leak sensors, freeze alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, remote controls, and secure device networks. The company also handles kitchens and bathrooms, additions, renovations, whole-home remodeling, and cold-climate upgrades, with smart technology wired into construction when requested.

Alaska Smart Home Designs manages projects from free assessment and custom planning through licensed installation and ongoing local support. Recent work includes structured network cabinets, pre-drywall wiring, security devices, soffit installation, and whole-home lighting control.
