Aktive is a leading brand in the sports and recreation sector, aiming to encourage, enable, and inspire Aucklanders to live more active lives. As both Sport NZ's and Auckland Council's strategic partner in Auckland, Aktive invests in organizations and projects that promote physical activity, with a particular focus on tamariki (5 to 11 years), rangatahi (12 to 18 years), and identified communities. Aktive's strategic priorities include setting clear direction, advocating for the rights of Aucklanders to participate in sports and physical activities, and catalyzing best practices by fostering cooperation and alignment across the sector.

They work with various partners, including Sport NZ and Auckland Council, to fund and deliver community sports in Auckland. Aktive's mahi (work) is oriented towards influencing young people's thinking and behavior, positively impacting adult influencers, and strengthening Auckland's play, sport, active recreation, and physical education systems.
