Akyvernites Politia is a pioneering cooperative initiative in the book sector, founded in 2013 in Thessaloniki as a bookstore, publishing house, and café. The brand seeks to enrich the local literary landscape by providing books that inform and critique society, striving to promote works that resist the superficiality of our times. Akyvernites Politia champions marginalized voices and stands alongside creators who challenge the status quo, advocating for the idea that books should not be mere commodities, but rather vehicles of knowledge and culture.

The cooperative operates on core principles of equality, direct democracy, and transparency, ensuring that all members share equal rights and responsibilities. They offer a diverse range of products, including books, publications, and fanzines, and host numerous literary events and book presentations each year. This vibrant community space fosters a collaborative environment, supporting social and labor struggles while promoting cooperative ideals, making Akyvernites Politia a distinctive hub for radical thought and solidarity in Thessaloniki.
