ALA Avicoltori, formally the Associazione Lombarda Avicoltori, is an amateur poultry association founded in 1991. It operates nationally, with a particular focus on Lombardy, and has been affiliated with the Associazione Italiana Avicoli Ornamentali (AIAO) since 2023. With more than 50 members from across the region, ALA brings together breeders and enthusiasts who raise selected purebred poultry.
Its work centers on promoting and sharing poultry culture while allowing members freedom to choose which breeds to keep. The association also collaborates with schools on projects that address biodiversity, connecting aviculture with educational activities. ALA organizes poultry shows and other initiatives, and shares updates and results from exhibitions and competitions.
Its website provides information about breeds and poultry anatomy, including ducks, guinea fowl, geese, chickens and turkeys, as well as details on membership, association statutes, forms and required health guidance. Through these resources and activities, ALA supports a community of poultry enthusiasts and encourages interest in selected breeds and aviculture in Lombardy and beyond
