Alabama Rivers Alliance is a statewide network dedicated to the protection and restoration of Alabama's water resources. With a mission to build partnerships, empower citizens, and advocate for sound water policy and its enforcement, the alliance works tirelessly to safeguard Alabama's rivers and streams. Alabama is home to over 132,000 miles of streams and rivers, teeming with diverse plant and animal life.

However, these precious water resources face numerous threats, from inadequate environmental regulations to the lack of sustainable water planning and policy. The alliance recognizes the urgency of their task in protecting these waters for the health of both the people and the ecosystems they support. Through their collective efforts, the Alabama Rivers Alliance hosts a range of events, including the Water is Life series, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, and the Rivers of Alabama Day.

They also provide resources and advocacy on various issues concerning Alabama's rivers, such as coal ash dam safety and sewage right to know.
