ALAEC

Häerzkrank Kanner zu Lëtzebuerg (ALAEC), the Luxembourg Association for Assistance to Children with Heart Conditions, is a public-benefit nonprofit supporting children affected by congenital or childhood-acquired heart disease and their families. Founded in January 2002, it works alongside treating cardiologists to help families through important stages of care and life. ALAEC connects people facing similar experiences through regular meetings, exchanges and information sessions, and raises public awareness of the challenges faced by children with heart conditions.

Its support includes social, moral and psychological guidance, as well as information on administrative, financial and institutional matters. The association can also assist with expenses and therapies related to heart conditions, including hospitalization and travel costs. ALAEC encourages initiatives that promote the well-being of hospitalized children and their relatives, advocates for affected people, and collaborates with public bodies and other organizations.
