About AlaskaAviationMuseum
Alaska Aviation Museum is dedicated to preserving, displaying, educating, and honoring Alaska's rich aviation heritage. Located in the heart of Alaska's aviation hub, it sits on the south shore of Lake Hood, the busiest seaplane base in the world, allowing visitors to witness takeoffs and landings firsthand. Just half a mile away is Ted Stevens International Airport, serving as the air crossroads of the world.
The museum showcases an impressive collection of Alaskan aviation history, featuring interactive displays, memorabilia, photographs, films, and artifacts from the personal collections of Alaska's pioneering aviators. From the 1928 Stearman c2b to the 1981 Boeing B737-29OC, the museum continues to acquire aircraft from all eras of Alaska aviation. Open every day from 10 am to 5 pm, the museum offers a variety of admission options and invites visitors to join its mailing list for updates on events and exhibits.
