About The Aldrich Museum
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, founded in 1964 by art collector and fashion designer Larry Aldrich, is one of the oldest contemporary art museums in the United States. Located in Ridgefield, Connecticut, it is the only museum in the state solely devoted to presenting contemporary art. The museum prides itself on its artist-centric programs and visionary exhibitions, featuring first solo museum exhibitions by emerging artists, significant exhibitions by established artists, and thematic group exhibitions.
Throughout its history, The Aldrich has showcased the works of renowned artists such as Frank Stella, Eva Hesse, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cindy Sherman, and many more. In addition to its exhibitions, The Aldrich offers a range of programs and events, including public programs, lectures, and workshops. The museum is housed in a state-of-the-art facility with a 2-acre Sculpture Garden, providing visitors with a unique and immersive art experience.
