ALDSM

ALDSM, the Association lyonnaise des devenus sourds et malentendants, is a Lyon-based association supporting people who are hard of hearing, have become deaf, or experience tinnitus or hyperacusis. It offers a welcoming place to discuss the effects of hearing difficulties on professional, social, and family life, meet others, share experiences, and find practical information. The association provides guidance on hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive technologies, and works to improve accessibility and raise awareness of hearing loss.

Its activities include lip-reading courses, discussion groups, member meetings, and outreach initiatives, including awareness sessions with students training in speech and language therapy. ALDSM also helps members discover accessible cultural activities, such as adapted exhibitions, films, and performances, and shares information through articles, newsletters, and resources including books, comics, and DVDs from its library. People interested in joining can attend activities, contribute ideas and testimonies, or become members.
