Alfaaz helps Indian families preserve the stories and voices of loved ones across distance. The service interviews parents and elders through WhatsApp, making it easy for them to share memories without learning a new app or creating an account. Alfaaz sends warm questions as voice notes, and family members can reply in their own time and language, including Hindi, Indian English, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati and Punjabi.

Each response becomes a page in a growing family memoir, while the original voice recording is kept alongside it. The result is a collection of personal stories that relatives can read and hear, from childhood memories and family anecdotes to recipes and moments worth remembering. Alfaaz is designed for families separated by busy routines, different time zones or long distances, helping loved ones stay connected through the experiences that shaped them. The website features sample recordings and stories from participating families, and invites users to begin collecting a family member’s memories through its service.
