About Alfa Framtak
Alfa Framtak is an independent alternative asset management firm specializing in private equity. As a regulated and supervised company under the Icelandic Financial Supervisory Authority, we are dedicated to being the preferred partner for managers, entrepreneurs, and business owners. Our active approach allows us to explore opportunities in a variety of areas, including traditional private equity, growth capital, and special situations.
At Alfa Framtak, we prioritize results, reputation, and relationships. While achieving favorable outcomes is our main focus, we believe in conducting business ethically and collaborating effectively with our partners. Our journey began in 2010 when Friðrik Jóhannsson and Gunnar Páll Tryggvason spearheaded restructuring projects during the Great Recession.
This experience led to the establishment of Icora Partners, an advisory boutique involved in M&A and restructuring across Iceland, Denmark, Latvia, and the Czech Republic. Over time, Icora Partners evolved into Alfa Framtak in 2018, transitioning towards alternative asset management and establishing a private equity fund. Throughout our history, we have successfully completed 20 transactions, amounting to a remarkable 2 billion Euros, including notable projects such as the restructuring of prominent European food manufacturers Hamé and Laima.
