About Alfarería M Zabala
Alfarería M. Zabala is a family-run artisan pottery workshop and manufacturer based in Puente del Arzobispo, Toledo, Spain. Founded in 1983, it is led by master potter Manolo Zabala, whose professional title was awarded by the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha. With 48 years of experience, Zabala combines traditional craftsmanship with creative design, including reproductions inspired by Iberian, Arab and Roman ceramics. The workshop’s pieces are made by hand on a potter’s wheel, and the local pottery technique was recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2019.
The online shop offers handmade ceramics for cooking, home decoration, lighting, gardens and pets. Products include refractory clay casseroles, roasting dishes, plates, jugs, water jars, tableware, planters, flowerpots, lamps, candleholders, birdhouses and pet feeders. The pottery is described as ecological and produced with consideration for the environment. Pieces are fired at temperatures of 1,000 to 1,050 degrees Celsius, using electricity from natural sources including hydropower and solar energy. Alfarería M. Zabala sells its work internationally.
