Gruppo Sportivo Algarve Roma Nove is a community sports organisation serving families in Rome’s Eur, Torrino, Mostacciano and Mezzocammino areas. Founded in 1990, Algarve grew from local school-based activities and now brings together SSD Algarve and SSD Olimpic Roma 9, combining a range of sports with collaboration across schools in Municipality IX. Its programmes support children and young people from early childhood through adolescence, with qualified instructors and an emphasis on wellbeing, respect, friendship and participation.
The organisation offers basketball and minibasket, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, karate, parkour, artistic skating, dance, musical theatre, Pilates and Baby Sport for children aged three to four. Its basketball pathway includes youth teams and a first team competing in Serie C; its karate and gymnastics programmes also report competitive achievements. Algarve provides pre- and post-school care, with activities, play and homework support, as well as sports camps, academies and community events. Through its “Algarve con il Cuore” initiative, it contributes to charitable projects, school improvements and accessible sporting activities.
