Aliva Familjehem AB is a locally based Swedish provider of consultant-supported foster care, operating from Halmstad since early 2016. The company works to place children and young people in safe, supportive homes, with the child’s best interests at the center of its services. Aliva recruits and assesses foster and emergency homes, including homes able to accept urgent placements and protective placements. It also offers contact families and respite families.

Throughout a placement, Aliva provides foster families with guidance tailored to their needs, alongside training, group meetings, community orientation and study circles. The company also supports municipal social services with care and implementation plans based on BBIC, and can undertake other assignments related to a child’s care. Its staff includes social workers and therapists, with more than 30 years of combined experience working with children and young people. Aliva says its practice is grounded in legislation, BBIC and attachment theory, with emphasis on professional standards, ethical practice, evidence-based methods and thorough documentation.
