ALJB is a non-profit association based in Luxembourg that was established on April 2, 1982. Their main objective is to promote the study and knowledge of banking and financial law. ALJB aims to facilitate communication and the exchange of ideas among its members through regular meetings, conferences, and debates.

They also publish articles and books related to legal issues in the banking and financial sector, and stay updated on legislative and regulatory developments in Luxembourg. ALJB collaborates with other associations with similar objectives and is a founding member of the European Association for Banking and Financial Law (AEDBF). They maintain close contacts with AEDBF and its national associations across the European Union, organizing joint events and publications.

Additionally, ALJB actively engages with academic experts in financial matters from Luxembourg and other European countries, promoting fruitful discussions and experiences sharing between academia and legal practitioners. Today, ALJB comprises over 800 members from the banking and financial sector, including lawyers, notaries, auditors, accountants, and corporate entities.
