Alkem Scale Models

Alkem Scale Models is a small kit design and manufacturing company creating fine-scale, highly detailed, prototypically based kits and detail parts for model railroaders and other hobbyists. Its products include model railroad structures, rolling stock and accessories, along with figures, busts and diorama subjects. The range features items such as freight car trucks, chain-link fences, carpentry tools, railings and ladders, yard lighting, heavy-duty chain tie-downs and steel mill details.

Kits are developed using computer-aided design and engineered for scale accuracy and straightforward assembly. They commonly combine photo-etched brass with laser-cut wood, acrylic or board, and may include resin components. Alkem also produces white-metal parts through in-house spin casting and resin parts using 3D laser stereolithography. Rather than relying on piles of raw strip material, many kits provide parts accurately cut to size, ready for gluing, sanding and finishing. The company also offers instruction manuals, mail-order purchasing and international shipping to a range of countries, with flat-rate shipping based on destination.
