About Alliance Française de Lusaka
Alliance Française de Lusaka is a local non-profit organization located in Long Acres along Alick Nkhata Road. With over 40 years of presence in Zambia, it is the largest of the three Alliance Française branches in the country, including Ndola and Livingstone. The organization has a strong focus on promoting the French language, francophone/french culture, and cross-cultural exchange.
Alliance Française de Lusaka offers a wide range of products and services. They provide French language courses for kids, adults, and companies, along with international certifications (DELF/DALF) that are recognized worldwide. Additionally, they offer classes in local languages such as Bemba and Nyanja, as well as English courses.
The organization also excels in translation and interpretation services, catering to international summits, conferences, and official documents. Their facilities include a beautiful library called KUBELENGA, which houses over 5,000 books and several computers. They also have a cozy multipurpose hall that can accommodate up to 250 people, hosting over 100 cultural events and workshops annually.
In addition to their language and cultural offerings, Alliance Française de Lusaka features the Total Energies Art Gallery, which provides a platform for both local and international artists to exhibit their work. They also have a new café called Daily Break, serving delicious French cuisine to visitors. Since its establishment in 1972, Alliance Française de Lusaka has played a significant role in language education, cultural exchange, and community development.
With the support of various French Institutes and the French Embassy in Zambia, thousands of students have learned French at their local centers
