Alliance Mental Health Providers of Oklahoma is a statewide membership association dedicated to advocating for better mental health and substance abuse treatment in Oklahoma. Founded in 2020, the Alliance serves as a trusted and unified voice on behalf of nine member-agencies, including seven Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers. These agencies form a strong safety net for Oklahoma's most vulnerable youth and adults, offering essential services to those struggling with serious mental illness and/or addiction.

The Alliance's work focuses on several key areas, including policy and legislative advocacy, public awareness and outreach, product and service development, member support, and training and educational opportunities. They work tirelessly to educate lawmakers and the public about the significance of the mental health system in Oklahoma, evaluating and influencing bills, policies, and ordinances to improve community-based mental health services. By raising public awareness and developing effective products and services, the Alliance endeavors to transform lives and communities.

They also prioritize member support, tracking issues and legislation that impact mental health policies and advocating on behalf of their members. Through training and educational opportunities, they foster knowledge and collaboration among members, policymakers, and elected officials. In a state where the rates of mental health conditions, addiction, and untreated illnesses are alarmingly high, the Alliance plays a crucial role in combating these challenges.

Their mission is driven by the understanding that untreated mental illness and addiction result in increased costs, reduced economic growth, and poorer educational and health outcomes for both individuals and society as a whole. With the rise of COVID-19, the Alliance recognizes the urgent need to address the mental health effects of the pandemic. The rates of anxiety, depression, and opioid overdoses have soared in Oklahoma, making their advocacy and support more vital than ever.
