The All Ireland Scholarships, established by the JP McManus Trust in 2008, are dedicated to providing scholarships to students. Each All Ireland Scholarship has a value of €6,750 per annum in Ireland and £5,500 per annum in Northern Ireland, and it covers the entire duration of the chosen undergraduate programs. These scholarships are exclusively available to students attending non-fee paying schools and who receive a third level of education maintenance grant from SUSI or the Educational Maintenance Allowance in Northern Ireland.

The selection for these scholarships is based on a candidate's performance in their first attempt at the Leaving Certificate Examination in Ireland or their first attempt at the A Level or BTEC Extended Diploma Examinations in Northern Ireland. To date, over €42.7m has been awarded to scholarship recipients, with 1,674 scholarships granted and 1,348 All Ireland Scholarship winners successfully graduating from university.

Managing the scholarship program are four Trustees named Gerry Boland, Pat Dowling, Prof. Sarah Moore Fitzgerald, and Diana McCabe. The Department of Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation & Science in Ireland, along with the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland, support the Trustees in administering the scholarships.
