All Okinawa Karate & Kobudo in Colorado Springs, CO is a renowned brand offering traditional Okinawan karate and kobudo training. Founded by Hanshi Jeff Ader in 1980, the school has a rich history that spans over 40 years of dedicated training and teaching. Hanshi Ader, an accomplished martial artist with over 50 years of experience, holds an impressive 9th-degree black belt.
At All Okinawa Karate & Kobudo, students learn Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo, an art that originated from the teachings of Soken Bushi Matsumura in the late 1700s. The lineage of this school traces back to Bushi Matsumura through his grandson Nabe Matsumura, Hohan Soken, Fusei Kise, and Isao Kise. The principles and concepts emphasized at the school include Tai Sabaki (body change), developing a full range of responses, integrating kobudo into empty hand techniques, and instilling a sense of responsibility.
The aim is to not only teach self-defense but also to nurture personal growth, self-confidence, and a peaceful mindset. The school has overcome various obstacles over the years, including the need for solid training, dojo maintenance expenses, and managing a traditional martial arts school. Hanshi Ader advises aspiring martial artists to find a system that suits their individual qualities and seek out reputable instructors.
