Alma mater | Nový Bohumín is a brand that focuses on giving hope and a chance at life to individuals with blood disorders. As a nonprofit organization based in Bohumín, they are dedicated to finding bone marrow donors for those in need and operating the Salt Cave in Bohumín. With over 4,455 registered bone marrow donors and approximately 270 bone marrow transplantations taking place each year in the Czech Republic, Alma mater plays a crucial role in providing a lifeline for patients.

While only 70 donors are found within families, the remaining 200 patients rely on the donor database (ČNRDD). Unfortunately, one in four patients with blood disorders cannot find a suitable donor. To address this issue, Alma mater aims to expand the pool of potential donors in the registry.
