Alnwick Story Fest is a literary festival celebrating stories, authors and creative talent in Alnwick, Northumberland, known as the story town of the North. Marking its fifth anniversary in 2027, the festival brings the town’s historic character and lively imagination together for a weekend of events across distinctive local venues, including Alnwick Playhouse, Alnwick Gardens, Bailiffgate Museum and Barter Books.

Its programme features book events, readings, author talks and workshops, with opportunities for audiences to meet writers and take part in literary activities. A range of Fringe events extends the celebration, showcasing local authors, poets, writers, musicians and artists. The festival also provides ticketing and programme information, shares updates through a free newsletter, and encourages visitors to buy books locally through The Accidental Bookshop, its award-winning independent bookseller. Supported by local founding partners and volunteers, Alnwick Story Fest creates a welcoming setting for authors and audiences to connect and enjoy literature. The 2027 programme details are forthcoming, with tickets expected to become available in December 2026.
