About ALPA
ALPA, short for Acces La Pamant Agroecologic, is a pioneering organization in Romania that facilitates the collaboration between farmers, donors, and citizens to ensure the local production of healthy food while prioritizing environmental conservation. In a landscape marked by challenges such as aging farmers, disappearing farms, skyrocketing land prices, and industrial agricultural pressures, ALPA plays a crucial role in supporting new small-scale agroecological farmers. By securing land donations and providing essential support, ALPA empowers these farmers to practice ethical farming methods that are not only about organic food but also about fostering social and environmental well-being.
Their work is grounded in key principles such as equitable land access, promoting agroecology, nature preservation, fostering local economies, and education. The result? A thriving community of young agroecological farmers, sustainable land stewardship, nutritious food production, and resilient local food systems.
