DAV Alpenverein

Sektion Passau is a local section of the German Alpine Club, serving people interested in mountaineering, outdoor activities and alpine culture. The organization connects members through a range of groups, including youth, family, senior, high-altitude touring and local community groups. It shares news, trip reports and information through its website and the Passau alpin publication.

Members and visitors can explore courses and guided section trips, including training in alpine skills, as well as tour information, participation guidelines and a car-sharing service. The section also provides information about climbing facilities, nature conservation, a lending library and member services such as insurance and the Alpine Safety Service. Its mountain destinations and facilities include the Passauer Hütte, the von-Schmidt-Zabierow-Hütte and Lamprechtshöhle. Additional resources include mountain weather, avalanche reports and the DAV hut search. Through its activities, services and community groups, Sektion Passau supports members in pursuing mountain sports and learning about responsible alpine recreation.
